A type of non allergic rhinitis caused by an increase in blood flow to the nasal mucosa
Clinically simulating nasal allergy with symptoms of nasal obstruction, rhinorrhoea and sneezing. One or other of these symptoms may predominate
All tests of nasal allergy will be negative and condition usually persist throughout the year

Symptoms
Paroxysmal sneezing - Bouts of sneezing start just after getting out of the bed in the morning
Excessive rhinorrhoea - This accompanies sneezing or may be the only predominant symptom. It is profuse and watery and may wet several handkerchiefs. The nose may drip when patient leans forward
Nasal obstruction- This alters side to side and it is more marked at night. Dependent side of nose gets blocked when lying on one side
