• When there is a complicated urinary tract infection( pyelonephritis)
• When there is s/s of Hypernatremia, Hyponatremia
• When there is Polyuria

Hypersthenuria

• Volume loss (dehydration, diarrhoea, emesis, excessive sweating)
• UTI
• Glucosuria
• Renal artery stenosis
• Hepatorenal syndrome
• Decreased blood flow to the kidney
• Shock
• Excess of antidiuretic hormone caused by the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion
