HYPOTHALAMIC AMENORRHOEA
Description
- Amenorrhoea due to hypothalamic dysfunction. Women under constant stress performing strenuous exercise develop amenorrhoea due to a decrease in GnRH pulse frequency with elevation in endogenous opioids and corticotrophin release hormone (CRH)
- Menstruation become irregular when BMI is < 19 kg/mm2
