When to search the database

Type a few letters and autocomplete narrows the list; enter a diagnosis and matching medicines, including admin-curated featured formulations, surface without a separate search. Each suggestion opens to a full monograph, and a preset dosage sheet fills in dose, timing, and anupana with a tap instead of free typing. This path is fastest whenever the drug is already catalogued, which covers a large share of routine Ayurvedic prescribing.

When to type a custom entry

An allopathic brand not yet indexed, a compound the doctor mixes themselves, a supplement, or any drug from a formulary the database has not reached yet: the custom-entry field takes free text and places it on the prescription in the same list as the searched medicines. There is no separate "other medicines" section and no visual demotion; a typed entry prints with the same weight as a database entry. What happens if a medicine is not in the database?
