What's new in Bhishak 5.1.1

Indic-script prescriptions, private Patient Records, and a smoother payment flow.

Bhishak 5.1.1 — Indic scripts, patient records, calmer payments.

The 5.1.x cycle lands three visible changes: prescriptions render correctly in five Indian scripts, every saved prescription files itself into a private on-device patient history, and the subscription verification step no longer flashes a scary red screen.

Indic-script prescriptions

Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi/Devanagari render correctly in the generated PDF — clinical body, patient name and letterhead alike. Works across all 12 template styles. Complex-script shaping (conjuncts, matra reordering) is handled properly, so no more tofu boxes or broken ligatures.

Patient Records — device-only

Every "Save & Generate" now files the visit into a private, on-device patient register. Reopen, reprint, share or start a new prescription pre-linked to any past patient. AES-encrypted at rest, never uploaded.

Fixed the payment "failure" flash

The subscription flow used to flash a red failure state during the (perfectly normal) server-side verification pause. Fixed — the UI now shows a neutral "verifying" state until the profile refresh confirms success.

Smaller improvements

  • Feature tour: version-keyed re-run so returning users see the new steps for Patient Records + Indic prescriptions.
  • Screenshot protection extended to the visit viewer inside Patient Records.
  • Better handling of duplicate patient detection — spelling variations no longer produce silent duplicates as often.
  • Bundle-size trim on Noto fonts — install size stays roughly flat despite the five new scripts.

Known limitations we haven't solved yet

  • Very long Indic medicine lists on a single prescription can spill off the page — split into two prescriptions if this happens. Pagination is on the list for 5.2.
  • Reference-book deep linking still lands on the books list (not directly on a chapter). Deeper deep links are on the roadmap once the partner catalogue exposes stable chapter IDs.
  • iOS payment configuration for the subscription: check with the release owner before submitting new iOS builds — App Store guideline 3.1.1 has implications.

Update to 5.1.1.

New installs get 5.1.1 automatically. Existing users: an update prompt should have surfaced on your last app open.
